Mission:
Global Orphan Prevention strives to keep mothers and children together through economic development, awareness, and educational opportunity. The work to address the orphan trade and child sex trafficking.
Purpose of Gala:
To increase awareness and stewardship amongst the Colorado community about our causes and to help them have a more profound understanding of how these issues are connected within our own country.
Additionally, to encourage new and ongoing support from donors, partners, and friends of the charity through
- Highlighting the organization’s programs
- Demonstrating the impact of our work
- Submerging the audience through an experiential event, where guests will activate their sensory channels, creating an emotional connection to the Cause
- By creating memorable experiences that give back or add value to their lives, the guests will feel drawn towards the mission
Summary:
Prepare and execute the marketing and communications plan with a volunteer committee
Goal:
Event branding and marketing to aid in selling tickets, generating positive media, and creating community buzz. Assist in raising $100,000 to invest in the mission of Global Orphan Prevention.
Length of Commitment:
- November 2018 - April 2019
- Committee meetings once per month
- Can be held virtual, but a minimum of 3 meetings must be in person
- Committee Chair: monthly virtual check-ins with other Chairs and CEO
Responsibilities:
- As the Chairperson, you will be responsible for managing your committee, holding your members accountable, and ensuring that your members are accomplishing the following:
- Volunteer to be ambassadors of the event through varying marketing channels including face-to-face, making invitation phone calls, helping with direct mail, sharing about the Gala at events, through local news and media outlets, and all social media outlets
- Secure media sponsors for print, television, and radio
- Use your personal social media outlets to promote the event
- Use your personal business, professional, and personal resources to promote the gala
- Implementation of the marketing and media plan including the following:
- Event brand, creative, and key event message w/ call-to-action
- Collateral material design and production including the Event Pamphlet
- News releases and media alerts are written and distributed
- Invitation design and distribution
- Social media posting
- Blogger outreach
- Media outreach and story pitches
- Manage media relationships
- Thank media and representatives to ensure that appropriate recognition activities take place
- Responsible for selling 3 tickets each

Compass Rose International uplifts young women to navigate unique challenges like child trafficking and mental health, providing tools for resilience, confidence, and independence.
Description
We help young women in both Nepal and Colorado.
- In Nepal, our INpowerment Center & Dormitory in Ghyangphedi houses 40 full time residents, age 10-17, and is located in the #1 child trafficking district of the country. We provide them equal access to education, as well as self-development and real-life business skills.
- In Colorado, our retreats and school programs help teen women find their internal wisdom, and source their power from within.
