Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (check in volunteer could possibly come for less time but will be needed at each distribution for at least 3-6 months)

Second Harvest's food distributions are often entirely volunteer run. The Food Distribution program at Teglia Community Center needs a Check In Volunteer who is available to volunteer on a *regular basis* to check in volunteers. We have recently transitioned to a new online, electronic volunteer registration system, we need a regular, committed Check In Volunteer who is responsible for registering and checking in volunteers.

The Check In volunteer must have a cheerful, welcoming demeanor and a willingness to welcome new volunteers. Additionally, the check in volunteer must be willing to use their smartphone to check in volunteers using Second Harvest Food Bank’s online volunteer registration system. The process only requires access to a small amount of cellular data service.

The volunteer must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, maintain strict confidentiality of all member and volunteer information.

This position is ONLY open to those who can volunteer for every distribution (with some exceptions for vacations, etc). We will provide training and support on our Volunteer Registration System, but we need someone physically there.
