ORGANIZATION: TIME AND THE VALLEYS MUSEUM

Educational volunteers will design curriculum for a new 1930s Lost Catskill Farm educational program geared for k - 12. They will also gain experience by directly teaching students k through 12 two existing programs: Tunnels, Toil and Trouble and Water Through History.

Mission Statement

To honor and preserve our history and share the heritage of our area including actively adding to the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the history and value of the Rondout and Neversink watersheds.

Description

The Time and the Valleys Museum is a living and interactive resource that preserves the past, educates the present and ensures the uniqueness of the Rondout and Neversink watersheds for all generations.

The Museum is located in Grahamsville, Sullivan County, NY and has THREE FLOORS of exhibitions, a Local History Resource Center (open Thursday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) and Museum Shop with local history and environmental publications, handcrafted artwork and gifts by local craftspeople, old fashioned toys and other unique items.

  • Tunnels, Toil & Trouble: New York City’s Quest for Water and the Rondout-Neversink Story
  • Water and the Valleys
  • Picture Yourself(ie) in the 1930s

Groups, camps and schools are always welcome - Guided tours are conducted for groups of 15 to 100 people throughout the year.
