Mental Health America of Central Carolinas

If you would like to help someone that is lonely and isolated as a resoult of suffering from mental illness, this is the opportunity for you! The Compeer Program will train you and then match you with someone in the community who wants to get out and have some fun! Get matched with an individual living with mental illness who is seeking friendship with someone who is accepting and won't judge them. Spend a minimum of 4 hours per month with your match - 1 hour per week or 2 hours twice a month. All participants and volunteers in the program must be 18 years old or older to apply. The Compeer Program matches volunteers with persons receiving mental health treatment in order to promote mental health and prevent social isolation.
