ORGANIZATION: Bay Area Tutoring Association

The Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA) Community Impact Manager changes the lives of students by matching them with the perfect tutor. This is the ideal role for a well organized, thoughtful and driven person who cares about Silicon Valley children succeeding academically and in life.

This goal is accomplished by the following:

  • Listening to the needs of parents and students who want academic success
  • Building trust and relationships with a wide variety of parent networks, community groups, sports networks, special events, local schools, etc.
  • Collaborating with BATA executive leadership, business development, marketing communications on ideas and strategies of service.
  • Willingness to learn about all the different types of learners, subject matters and opportunities to make a difference.
  • Believing you are the best person for this opportunity.

As a part of this particular role, the BATA Community Impact Manager Key Performance Indicators include; client relationship management and satisfaction, meticulous record keeping and timely interaction. Your success will translate into increased student self confidence, better grades and happier caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Pending or completed Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Communications, Marketing or other related field
  • Interpersonal and professional writing skills for internal/external communication assignments
  • Enthusiasm for solving problems and determining meaningful solutions
  • Creative customer service experience
  • Social media savvy
  • Able to relate and develop positive relationships with students, parents, organizations and community leaders
  • Public speaking/presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Knack for relationship building via email, social media, text, in person and via phone
  • Ability to work well remotely and in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making, listening and creative thinking abilities
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Familiarity with academic needs of students pre K-12 th grade (a plus)
  • Roots in local community (a plus)
  • Community volunteer experience (a plus)

Logistics and Training

There will be 4 hours of paid training from our Founder and VP of Client Services, which includes:

  1. The opportunity and importance of tutoring.
  2. Client Engagement Strategies and Tracking
  3. Email and Phone call communication protocol with prospective and existing clients

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bay Area Tutoring Association is to develop an academic tutoring workforce for the support of Common Core Math, Literacy, Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), STEM, Computer Science intervention and enrichment programs and services. We collaborate with parents, teachers, educational leaders, school sites, districts, CBO's, non-profits, foundations and other organizations for the development of growth mindsets and life-long learners of Bay Area students in grades K thru 12.

Description

The Bay Area Tutoring Association is a dynamic academic support and enrichment 501c(3) organization designed to complement our education system. It is comprised of a collective of educators, tutors, parents, students, community members, grass roots organizations and business leaders with a shared desire to invest in the future prosperity of the San Francisco Bay Area through the facilitation of student academic development, parent empowerment and quality extended learning programs.

Our core pillars are tutor training, educational programs and services, parent and student awareness. We strongly believe a trained, properly equipped and confident tutor can be a critical component to the life success of anyone, especially a child in need of academic support. We also believe parent and student awareness increase opportunity and equity for all. Every employee, contractor and volunteer affiliated with the Bay Area Tutoring Association is required to perform with integrity and adhere to ethical standards beyond reproach.
