Gulf Coast Social Services - New Orleans is seeking Contract Foster Parents for the Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Contract TFC Foster Parents, will provide supervision services as well as room and board, to troubled youth currently in Louisiana’s DCFS custody. After completing all background checks, specialized trainings and the TFC home certification process, Contracted TFC Foster Parents will receive placement referrals for children who have been placed in the states’ custody, in most cases due to abuse or neglect. Must have experience working with children with behavioral health issues or other special needs.

High need for homes serving youth in the following categories:

  1. Developmental delays, especially children with Autism and on the Pervasive Developmental Disorder Spectrum
  2. Identification as sex trafficked victim
  3. LGBTQ
  4. Conduct disorder (ages 14-17)

Additional referral requirements:

  • Must be able to provide a safe and structured environment in their home in order to care for children/youth that may have been abused/neglected
  • Must be financially stable - able to meet own family needs (Cannot be on any state/federal assistance program)
  • Must be able to participate in Home Study Process
  • Salary: $36.20 to $59.93 /day (Depending on level of care)
