In 2012, a group of dedicated volunteers / supporters of the Ingham County Animal shelter got together and formed the Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund. At that time, the vision and mission was "to lessen the burden on and provide funding to Ingham County Animal Control; to raise funds through grants, donations and fundraising events in order to provide food, shelter, and care for animals at the Ingham County Animal Shelter; to provide funding for the investigation and enforcement of laws protecting Ingham County animals; and to provide funding for Ingham County Animal Control’s public programs."
As board members have resigned due to time constraints or family issues, new Board members have joined to further the cause. Our mission has evolved as we focus not only on fundraising for the shelter but community outreach within Ingham County.
We are looking for new leaders who are willing to serve a two year term on the Board, can expand our vision and bring fresh ideas and energy to the Board, and strengthen our connections within the various communities throughout Ingham County. We are looking for individuals to help develop and support fundraising programs as well as celebrate the bigger and better shelter to be completed in 2019 to house Ingham County’s homeless pets.
