Hello Potential Volunteer,
We are looking for Committed Individuals who will train to become a health Navigators and help Families who want to enroll health affordable health Insurance marketplace where individuals, families and small businesses can shop, compare and choose health insurance coverage that meets their needs. IF you are outgoing and Committed Person feel free to apply.
Requirements:
Good listening and communication skills
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and Somali highly sought after
The ideal applicant will be friendly and enjoy meeting people
Ability to evaluate situation to gather needed information
Good judgment and decision making skills in assessing various situations
Respect for confidentiality of clients
Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
A sense of responsibility toward the position demonstrated by good attendance and punctuality
Professional appearance and behavior
Positive attitude
Respect for the multicultural nature of the customers including their dress, religious beliefs, and language
Must be 18 years or older and pass a standard background check
Time Commitment:
At least 6 hours of shift a week.
At least a 3 month commitment to the program
Supervision: The volunteer is supported by the on-site staff members available to provide guidance and respond to questions and special situations.
Benefits:
Volunteers gain experience working with individuals from various ethnic, language, and cultural backgrounds
- Become State Certified Health Navigator
Volunteers gain experience assisting staff and greeting clients in a office settings
Volunteers can be reimbursed monthly for related transportation expenses within allowable limits by completing a request form.
- Letters of recommendation can be written on request after time commitment made

The mission of the Fortune Relief and Youth Empowerment Organization (FRAYEO) is to provide support services to youth and adults focused on cultural adjustment and increase socio-economic well-being of the East African communities in Minnesota by providing a continuum of care through a cultural specific programs and positively transform the social and economic structures that sabotaged poverty.
Description
FRAYEO is the leading immigrant and refugee-led organization focused on stabilizing the lives of East African families in Minnesota by providing free community service and civic philanthropy. In doing so it advocates ease of access to basic human services and community engagement, including youth and family health, Parenting education, women empowerment, housing, employment services, Youth Socio-emotional mentor-ship and fathers support, Conflict Resolution, Leadership,financial management, family counseling, Teen-parenting education and legal support.
Minnesota is a home of many East African Immigrants and Refugees from various backgrounds. While some are emerging social political and business leaders majority of East African Youth & adults suffer from a high percentage of poverty rate. Some of East African youth were disconnected from the community resources due to multiple barriers.
FRAYEO plays a pivotal role to educate youth about every option so that they will one day become successful leaders in life. We Leverage the power of our communities to embrace the young people who lack support and mentor-ship. We help create a network of stable adults who can provide a lasting support to the Youth. We are a community wellness hub and our Values of HOPE. JOY, DIVERSITY & OPTIMISM will lead to the development of a Society, Humanity and Nation.
