Do you want to get connected in the community of Boulder, help preserve our history, and participate in awesome art and science projects? Then volunteering with the Museum of Boulder is the perfect fit for you!
We're looking for energetic, ready-to-learn individuals interested in filling a variety of volunteer needs at the new Museum of Boulder. If you have daytime availability and enjoy working with kids, we'd love to have you as a tour facilitator for visiting school groups to interact with local history,
You'll mostly be working with students 2nd-4th grade, leading them in one of our three programs aimed to teach them about Colorado history, engage them in critical thinking, and get them excited about learning and about the Museum. If you're new to Colorado or don't know much about it, don't worry! That will be covered in the training. The programs can take place at the Museum or in the classroom at the school. Scheduling varies depending on what a school requests, so typically we have a calendar based on everyone's availability and will assign programs based on who is available. You can find more information on our programs here (At the Museum, for 2nd-3rd, and 4th).
No experience? No problem! We'll provide all necessary training and support you in whatever position works best for you. All you need is a willingness to learn, ability to commit for one full semester, and excitement about engaging with the community. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the history of Boulder, get experience leading groups in a variety of topics and activities, and support a local institution.
We'll work with your schedule.
