NAMI Metro Suburban is looking for adults to briefly share their experience of living with a mental health condition and their journey to recovery as part of our Hear Us program. Hear Us is a recovery-focused presentation where those living well with a mental illness go back to hospital behavioral health units to share their story; inspiring hope and belief in recovery to the patients there.
Presentation locations may include Hines VA in Maywood, Madden Hospital in Maywood or MacNeal Hospital. in Berwyn.
Training is provided. Must have a lived experience with a mental health condition which required hospitalization in the past and be willing to speak in hospital setting.

The mission of NAMI Metro Suburban is to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and communities who are affected by mental illness. We achieve this goal by providing education, advocacy and support (free of charge) within the communities of west suburban Cook County.

NAMI Metro Suburban is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We are a grassroots family and consumer self-help support, education and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of people, families and communities affected by mental illness in the western suburbs of Cook County. NAMI Metro Suburban is one of 900 affiliates nationwide.
