Volunteers in this area keep the lost and found bulletin boards up-to-date. Flyers should only be left on the board for 2 weeks. If the flyer isn’t dated, a date should be written on it to keep track of how long it has been posted. Volunteers will also look through lost and found websites to try and identify any matches with animals in our facility.
Volunteer Orientation is required for all new volunteers. The calendar for orientations can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WxNzMTX8ba4mRJ0PSPWmmbn05nkLsuHr/view
The purpose of Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is to provide animal protection, control, veterinary services and placement services to pet owners and non-owners so they can live in a safe community of responsible pet ownership, free of animal abuse and neglect.
Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is a municipal animal shelter that receives it’s funding from the City, donations from individuals, organizations, and grants. We are an open admission shelter, which means we accept all animals that come to our shelter as long as they are from within the Oklahoma City limits. We also contract with the City of Del City, the Town of Valley Brook and Tinker AFB to provide sheltering services to stray animals from within their city limits. We are also responsible for the enforcement of animal ordinances within Oklahoma City.
We'll work with your schedule.
