We strive to be a resource for everyone, but we need your help to ensure we are serving those for whom English is not a native language. Help the library reach out to Spanish-speaking residents in the Gibsonville area by providing needed translation services and outreach.

As a Bilingual Services Specialist you will:

1. Work with library staff to plan, promote, and partake in events and services that speak to the needs of our Spanish-speaking residents.
2. Provide translations of various library communications
3. Explore and share the needs of Spanish-speaking residents with library staff
4. Help to make the library more accessible to Spanish-speaking residents through special projects and your own great ideas!

1. Fluent in English and Spanish
2. Patience and good communication skills. Ability to work with diverse community members
3. Friendly, courteous and enthusiastic attitude.
4. Occasional evening and/or weekend availability, in order to offer events/services around work and school schedules
5. Reliability. Library staff will depend on you to help us better reach and serve our community.

1. Training provided on the current services provided by the library, and the goals of the library, so that they can be effectively communicated with residents
2. Additional library staff help/consultations as needed

1. Time Commitment: 3 - 6 hours per month
2. Length of Commitment: Minimum of 6 months requested

3. Develop relationships with community members and library staff.
