Opportunity
Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley (Habitat EBSV) is currently seeking volunteers to help with Family Resource Committee’s Habitat Homework Help program. Volunteers will work with Habitat homeowners’ children at the Walnut Creek Public Library on the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon
- December 1
- December 8
- December 15
Children participants range from early elementary to middle school.
Qualifications
Habitat Homework Help volunteers:
- offer individual or small group attention
- engage children in enjoyable experiences with literature - writing, reading and listening
- help children feel successful by giving positive feedback and support
- help with homework in ways that extend children's understanding and interest
- model through your own actions that reading and writing are pleasurable and valuable activities
- are organized, reliable and fun-loving
If this sounds like you, call and find out more about us and consider joining our team of dedicated volunteers to educate Habitat families.
Volunteers will need to sign a Sex Offender Database Check Authorization and Habitat will run a check on volunteers to participate in this program.
