Description
Code Platoon is looking to add a remote WordPress Technician to its growing team of volunteers. This position can lead to a paying role.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and extensions, knowledge of CSS and HTML, the ability to work with Javascript and PHP, and a passion for researching and applying test methodologies to ensure that production code and user experience are rock solid.
This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to contribute to a meaningful cause and make an impact with an energetic, startup non-profit.
Familiarity with Jotform, Infusionsoft, Zapier and similar tools are a plus.
Because our mission is to serve veterans and their spouses, those demographics are preferred for this role!
Role & Responsibilities- Design and implement manual and automated tests for WordPress responsive website
- Organize and compile test results into a periodic report communicating areas of strength and weakness as well as opportunities for improvement
- Manually implement approved change requests
- Correspond with third-party vendors to remove bottlenecks where required
- Knowledge of WordPress
- Experience testing software
- Strong communication and self-accountability
- Knowledge of CSS, HTML, Javascript, PHP
- Understanding of cross-browser test cases
- Knowledge of web development tools such as FireFox Firebug or Chrome Inspect
- Portfolio of prior web development work

Code Platoon transforms veterans and military spouses into professional software developers through an immersive, hands-on, educational process and paid internship program.
Description
Code Platoon is a 501(c)3 non-profit that helps veterans and military spouses transition into the civilian workforce by providing technical training and career placement. For 15 weeks the students are immersed in learning the full web development stack, including Python (or Ruby), Django (or Rails), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. No previous programming skills are required. After completing the program the veteran or military spouse will be hirable as a junior full-stack web developer and eligible for an internship.
