SCP

The Senior Commodities program is a monthly box of non-perishable food items provided by the USDA and distributed by the Dare to Care food bank in Louisville. ElderServe is a distribution site in the community for Dare to Care’s program, helping seniors have a better access to the program. ElderServe serves ElderServe clients and zip codes 40210, 40211, 40212, and 40203.

The volunteer’s role is to deliver these commodities to seniors who are unable to come to the center each month, due to medical conditions or unreliable transportation. The deliveries will take place once a month (flexible days/times). The volunteer will be asked to carry these boxes and to ask for a signature from the senior. The boxes weigh approximately 20-25 pounds.

ElderServe's Senior Center is located at 631 South 28th Street, Louisville, KY 40211. Volunteers will begin at the Senior Center and will provide services out in the community.
