Do you love working with kids? How about facilitating an art project or starting up a game of basketball?
If you answered Yes! help us enhance our client experience by volunteering in the Family and Children’s Hub! During the day The Hub functions as a play space for children while caregivers receive services, such as immigration support, case management, counseling, and Hand Up Food Pantry. During the evening, The Hub provides planned programming, homework help, and more for our youth and families in the Safe Parking Program. Volunteers can support as Hub Helpers during the daytime or in the evening. With fun and engaging activities, we provide a safe and comfortable environment for all the children who come through our doors!
All you need is:
- To be at least 18 years old
- To pass a background check (conducted and paid for by JFS)
- To transport yourself to and from our Balboa Ave office
- To attend an interview with program staff
- To attend a Hub training/orientation and a general orientation at our Office
By joining the team you are:
- Enriching the lives of children
- Being a positive presence in the lives of children and family from various backgrounds
- Preparing and leading age appropriate activities, games, and/or projects
- Fostering healthy interactions and play with children.
