Are you a Meteorologist by profession? Interested in bringing new experiences to the students of DPS? Students love learning from Community members. Community Resources arranges for meteorology presentations in many DPS Elementary School classrooms and would love for you to join our efforts. It might be one school or several, your choice.
We are looking for someone to present about major weather events, including everything from droughts and floods to blizzards and tornadoes and how the weather deeply affects people.
We have several classes eagerly awaiting to learn about meteorology.

Community Resources, Inc.(CRI) supports literacy, academic achievement, and curriculum enhancement for students and their families by providing programs and activities which utilize community volunteers as teachers, speakers, mentors and professional advisors.
Description
Community Resources, Inc. provides educational opportunities to more than 100 schools and 70,000 students each year. To accomplish this, CRI calls upon the knowledge, energy and commitment of hundreds of volunteers from the community. CRI brings volunteers into classrooms to share information and expertise on hundreds of topics. CRI also creates family reading, math and science nights that bring students and their parents back to school to have fun learning together. The Academic Mentors program matches gifted students with professionals in the community in areas of career and curricular interest. Finally, CRI develops and conducts career fairs, science fairs, multi-cultural festivals and other customized special events for elementary, middle and high schools.
