The essential role of Silverado volunteers are a necessary component of our hospice team providing companionship and care to both the patient and their families.
We are seeking a caring, compassionate individual to visit with hospice patient at home in Buffalo Grove, Il twice a week from 10:00am to 12:00pm. To get started in making a difference in someone's life, contact Volunteer Coordinator Kathleen Kennedy kathleen.kennedy@silverado.com or 847-565-2355.
SELFLESS CONTRIBUTIONS MAY INCLUDE:
- Provide patient companionship and friendship
- Read books, play games/cards
- Write letters/emails
- Listen to music
- Watch TV
- Walk with patient (if able)
- Assist with daily tasks
- Give families or caregivers a break to take care of personal needs
REQUIREMENTS:
- 18 years of age
- Valid drivers license
- Valid automobile insurance
- Valid social security number
- Complete application process
- Complete mandatory background check, drug screen and TB test (no cost to you)
- Complete mandatory orientation/training
- Desire to commit to 3-6 months of service
