Kindred Hospice is seeking "sitters" for intermittent support for patients. To benefit patients as needed, we provide sitters to spend time with patients for support and companionship.

Volunteer sitters may choose their assignments-considering location, day/time, patient diagnosis, etc.-and visit at times/places that are convenient. Typically for 2-4 hours, assignments may be a one-time visit or ongoing, depending on patient needs and volunteer availability. We are building teams geographically to be easier and more accessible for our volunteers.

Share a little of your time to make a big difference in the lives of our patients and their families!

We invite you to join our team!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide quality care for patients faced with a life limiting illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person's life through pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support. We believe the patient and family are an integral decision making member of the Kindred Hospice Team in planning care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness. Kindred Hospice regards dying as a normal process at life's end. We can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and loved ones.

Kindred Hospice provides the highest quality of care. We treat everyone with respect and dignity. We acknowledge and embrace religious, ethnic and cultural diversity. Kindred Hospice offers a team approach to deal with the physical, emotional, spiritual and social impact of the disease on the patient, family and friends.

An individualized plan of care is developed and updated every visit to meet the needs of each patient and family. The team includes the patient, family, doctor, nurse, nurses aides, medical social worker, clergy and volunteers. We are available 24/7. We also offer bereavement counseling to the family for up to one year following the death of their loved one.
