Description of Duties: 1-2 times per month, do the grocery shopping for one of our 30 residential homes. Categorized lists are provided and flexible times can be arranged. Volunteers will do the shopping, contact the house managers when completed where the managers will meet volunteers at the check stand and pay for the groceries. The shopper will then assist the house manager to load the groceries in the vehicle(s), and unload and help put away groceries in the houses.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check, have adequate time management skills, a reliable vehicle and be personable and friendly.

Time Requirements: 4-6 hours per month

Orientation: Brief orientation on the organization and volunteer policies and procedures.

Training: Minimal, as necessary. Volunteers will get a brief overview of the grocery list and how it is arranged. The first (and possibly subsequent) trips will be accompanied by the house manager to help.

Evaluation and Reporting Procedures: Volunteers will receive annual evaluations, as well as at any point where it is necessary. Volunteers will report to Volunteer Coordinator and the directed staff that they are working with. Volunteers will follow policy in the volunteer handbook on any grievance issues.
