The Zoo is looking for applicants for our volunteer program for ages 16-21, and we are inviting students to apply!
The Youth Advisory Council is great way to see how a nonprofit business - more specifically how our zoo operates, and to be a part of the decisions we make! This is a unique opportunity for your students to impact what Roger Williams Park Zoo does in 2020 and in the future.
The Roger Williams Park Zoo Youth Advisory Council inform future RWPZ initiatives by providing thoughtful feedback and a unique perspective. Members serve as a voice for youth within the Zoo and community. Youth Advisory Council members will collaborate to lead, design, and execute various initiatives and projects that will positively impact the Zoo, community, animals, and the environment. Members will work together as a council and with our senior level management at the zoo to develop these projects and initiatives. After a year of being a member of the Youth Advisory Council, members can even be voted on to be part of the RWPZ board!
I have attached a flyer for the program, as well as the application to this email. More information on the RWPZ Youth Advisory Council can be found at: http://www.rwpzoo.org/youthcouncil and https://www.rwpzoo.org/sites/default/files/resource/Youth%20Advisory%20Council%20Application%202020.pdf .
Applicants must be 16-21 years of age.
The application deadline is November 22nd.
This is a great opportunity for students that are interested in the environment, and want to have a voice in what Roger Williams Park Zoo does and can do! This could be a driven individual that is already involved in your school’s student council, interested in business, or perhaps involved in clubs or groups that are science or environmental based.
