Help girls engage in civil discourse! At this event, girls will learn to engage in critical thought about how they can navigate conversations and challenges when others disagree or have differing thoughts than their own. Volunteers will help lead activities, and help with event logistics like set up, clean up and registration. Program activities will be laid out for volunteers to feel comfortable teaching and Girl Scout staff will be present to support volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about encouraging girls to explore, learn and grow
- Supportive of different learning and communication styles
- Willing to lead activity stations for girls in 2 nd through 8 th grades (full instructions for each station will be given at the event)
- Ability to assist with Leadership Program Aides without interrupting their leadership development
- Willing to provide essential event support such as event organization, set-up and clean-up
- Ability to facilitate programs when given instructions
- Can lift a minimum of 5 pounds
- Punctual, dependable, enthusiastic, flexible and positive attitude
Responsibilities:
- Help provide a safe space where participants can learn, grow and make memories
- Encourage girls to try new activities, work as a team, and think outside the box
- Assist girls at various activity stations, including with older Girl Scout Program Aides
- Replenish supplies throughout the day
- Support event set-up and clean-up, registration, and surveys
Requirements:
- Must be over 18 years old
- Must be able to volunteer for the full event
