Volunteers are needed to re-stock supplies for teacher shopping in our teacher free store, where teachers from low-income schools in the Twin Cities Metro shop for free supplies for their students and classrooms. Volunteer shift is one day per week Monday-Thursday 10:00am-12:00pm or 3:00pm-5:00pm. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to give back to students in need in our area!
Activities include the following items
- replace and merchandise school supply products in our teacher store
- some standing, walking, lifting and bending required
We ask for a weekly commitment during the school calendar year (closed during winter and summer breaks).

Mission Statement
By partnering with teachers and students in under-resourced schools, the Kids In Need Foundation provides the support needed for teachers to teach and learners to learn. The Kids In Need Foundation Teacher Resource Center, operates as a free store for eligible teachers serving at area schools where at least 50% of students are enrolled in the federal free or reduced lunch program.
Description
Kids In Need Foundation believes every child in America should have equal opportunity and access to a quality education.
What is unequivocally true: education is the gateway to empowering students to reach their full potential. Since 1995, Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) has provided the school supplies and learning resources needed to level the playing field, the only national nonprofit to focus its efforts on the country's most underserved schools, those with an enrollment of 70% or more participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
We strategically mobilize our efforts and resources through our foundational programs-Supply A Teacher, Supply A Student, and Second Responder-and our National Network of Resource Centers, a collection of more than 40 well-established, mission-driven organizations across the country. Each year through our programs and Network, we serve an estimated 5 million students, 205,000 teachers, and provide over $70 million in product at no cost to schools or teachers.
