Has Alzheimer's disease touched your life in some way? Are you mad at the impact of this disease on the 5.8 million Americans facing it? If we told you there is something you can do about it, would you?
If you've answered yes to any of these questions, then the Alzheimer's Association warmly invites you to join us at the East Bay Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 26 as a Roaming Alzheimer's Advocate!
Your role on Walk day (following advance and day-of training) will be to initiate short conversations with walkers as you roam the venue, encouraging them to fill out advocacy pledge cards and to check out our advocacy website: alzimpact.org. These cards get delivered to Congress to DEMAND that Alzheimer's research, care, and support be a TOP FEDERAL PRIORITY, but we also use contact information from the cards to recruit new Alzheimer's Advocates. These volunteer Advocates use their personal story to lobby Congress and the State Legislature to approve bills and funding that advance research and provide support to all affected.
If you want to join us on Walk day as a Roaming Alzheimer's Advocate, simply fill out this online form and select "Roaming Advocacy Registrations" as your assignment of choice:
https://act.alz.org/site/TR?sid=23941&type=fr_informational&pg=informational&fr_id=12096
Once you fill out the form you'll be contacted within 2 weeks. If you have any questions please contact Zack Smith, Public Policy & Advocacy Manager, at zsmith@alz.org or 408.372.9938.
Thank you for moving us closer to a world without Alzheimer's disease.

Our vision, A world without Alzheimer's disease.
Description
We provide programs and support services for patients, families, caregivers, and others in the San Francisco Bay Area affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Outside the federal government, the Alzheimer's Association is the largest research funder in the country and offers advocacy opportunities to make public policy change.
At the Alzheimer's Association, diversity and inclusion are vital to our mission. The Association leads strategic initiatives to support diversity and a culture of inclusivity. These strategic initiatives also strengthen outreach to all populations, providing communities with resources and support to address the Alzheimer’s crisis. By partnering with organizations locally and nationally to advance diversity and inclusion, the Association can broaden its reach in all communities.
