Do you have a background or professional knowledge in any STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) field? Are you excited to help future leaders of tomorrow? If so, Technology Access Foundation (TAF), a non-profit centered around providing underrepresented students with equitable STEM education, needs you!
We’re looking for mentors that are willing to aide in a kindergarten classroom at Boze Elementary in Tacoma, WA. The guiding question our students are working on currently is: what can we learn from kinders around the world to make the best environment for us? To help answer that question, kindergarteners need to know what their learning environment currently looks like and, to accomplish this, they will be building a life-sized model of their current learning environment. They will need someone patient, willing to get messy, and excited to help students understand new procedures.
If you’re interested in helping in a kindergarten classroom at Boze in Tacoma, WA, please email Sade Britt, Development Associate, at sadeb@techaccess.org .
Who We Are:

We equip students of color for success in college and life through the power of an interdisciplinary STEM education and supportive relationships. Today, TAF’s programs impact over 14,000 public school students across Washington State. Additionally, TAF offers a Martinez Fellowship in which we provide and support multiple pathways to a teaching degree for teachers of color in order to improve teacher diversity and retention in Washington State.
