Mind Body Baby supports new families in a multitude of ways. One of them is bi-monthly postpartum support groups. One is active now, with other locations in the plans very soon. As part of that support, we wish to provide access to multi-generational experiences. Many new parents are living away from their own parents/ families, so much of the immediate support they can offer is not existent. Also, it is known that biologically, infants are expecting positive sensory input people of many ages ranges (as our hunter/gather ancestors would have experienced. This volunteer opportunity is a chance to join the postpartum groups as an extra set of hands to help mom with baby, perhaps give positive perspective to their experiences.
Signing up for this volunteer position adds you to a 'grantparent collective' of support. After an interview, you can hope to pick volunteer days that fit your schedule.
