"We Honor Veterans Program" - Volunteers Needed

Did you serve in the military? Do you have some free time and want to help fellow veterans?
We are part of the "We Honor Veterans" program, in which we match people with military experience with our veteran patients who are receiving hospice care. Encompass Hospice is looking for volunteers to visit veterans and others in their home and or in Assisted Living facilities.
At Encompass Hospice, our volunteers set their own level of commitment depending on their schedule and availability. However, we do prefer someone who can give two hours per week and can commit to at lease 6-12 months of volunteer time, of course a longer commitment is certainly appreciated and recognized.
Some ways to help make a difference in a veteran’s life are:
Providing companionship / socialization
Playing games, reading, and listening to music
Arts / crafts, or creating photo albums of the patient and family.
and in many other ways!
Sometimes just being there and being a friend is all they need.
