The Sexual Assault Assistance Program of the Treasure Coast (SAAP) is the Certified Rape Crisis Center for Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie Counties. Spanish Speaking Helpline Advocates are needed to answer the 24 hours, confidential SAAP helpline and provide crisis counseling and advocacy to sexual assault survivors and family members. Spanish Helpline Advocates will also be responsible for translating non-complicated calls for our non-Spanish-speaking advocates.
Prior experience with Crisis Counseling/ Human Services background is preferred.

30 hour Sexual Assault Counselor Training will be provided. Once fully trained, volunteers may work from home.

Mission Statement

The Sexual Assault Assistance Program’s mission is to provide a coordinated, collaborative, and multidisciplinary approach to sexual violence on the Treasure Coast. Our goal is to provide sexual assault survivors (reporting and non-reporting) with the services and support to lead them toward empowerment and reconnection.

Description

The Sexual Assault Assistance Program of the Treasure Coast provides crisis intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and referrals to Victims in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties.
The Sexual Assault Assistance Program was founded in 1981 to provide advocacy for Sexual Assault Victims. Sexual Assault Advocates work with reporting and non-reporting victims of Sexual Violence. The Prevention Educator provides trainings, workshops and presentations on by-stander intervention and consent using models such as "Green Dot" and "One Love" curriculums.
