One in three adults over the age of 45 years old feel lonely and the number becomes greater with age; loneliness can lead to more serious mental health issues. You can help improve this statistic by helping our residents feel connected to the larger community. We are currently looking for a male volunteer to serve as a friend to our male residents who may be feeling lonely or need more social stimulation. One resident in particular use to play cards and would like to do so again. Visit with our residents and enrich their life... and your own.
Person must be patient as many residents they will be visiting with have memory loss and other signs common with the beginning- middle stages dementia.
Weekly visits are preferred.
