Music Committee Member

Music Committee Members are responsible for the coordination and execution of Bountiful Davis Art Center’s Music Program related events including fundraising concerts and BDAC’s Silent Film Music Festival. Ideal Music Committee candidates will have an appreciation for music but not need to be directly involved with the music community.

Commitment

Music Committee Members will agree to a 2-year term commitment with an option to renew after their first term. Attend quarterly meetings scheduled by the Committee chair. Participate in an annual review of the Music Program. Recital Volunteering at least 4 nights a year. Bringing in a group of 10 people to the Art Center for a private tour and talk about donations, sponsorship opportunities, or volunteer positons. Selling a minimum of 2 tickets to the Annual Fundraising Concert and purchasing a minimum of 2 tickets. If you are unable to attend the event selling 4 tickets to the concert will meet the required number of ticket sales. Attending special Music Program events, such as approved BDAC/Partnership fundraising, public and private concerts.

Write a simple review of annual programs, make suggestions about what worked well and how programs could be implemented better.

Responsibilities

The Music Committee Members are responsible to aid and oversee the following.

  1. Attend Music Program Committee quarterly meetings.
  2. Assist in the promotion of Music Program support events.
    1. Distribute information and posters about Silent Film Music Festival and the Annual Fundraising Concert to local businesses
      1. Track locations of all approved poster and banner placement for the following years.
    2. Help pick up promotional materials from donors, sponsors, and event affiliates and ensure they are displayed during the festival.
  3. Review changes to policies that directly affect the Music Program.
  4. Attend BDAC events and bring a minimum of 2 new patrons, potential sponsors, or potential committee members to each event.
  5. Increase the size of the Music Programs Committee
    1. Identify local individuals who would have a positive influence on the music program committee.
      1. Bring those individuals to events at the art center to build interest in participating in the music program or other events at the art center.
