Are you developing your nonprofit development and fundraising portfolio? Looking for a small organization to volunteer with that makes a positive impact in Chicago on a daily basis? Come join our team at StandUp For Kids Chicago.

We work with homeless teens and young adults at our Lakeview drop-in center, providing them meals, necessities and hope. We are seeking to expand our fundraising footprint both in Lakeview and throughout the city. If you want to hone your grant research and writing skills, if you want to assist with small, tailored events, if you'd like to engage your creative side and help us engage donors, let us know.

About StandUp for Kids - Chicago, IL

Location:

3614 North Ashland Ave, 1st floor, Chicago, IL 60613, US

Mission Statement

Ending the cycle of youth homelessness. We do this in cities across America, one youth at a time.

Description

In 2009, a handful of volunteers were moved to start the Chicago chapter of StandUp for Kids by making sandwiches in a Lakeview church basement. Along with providing street outreach services, we have a safe drop-in center (2012) for our Chicago’s homeless youth to relax and socialize, as well as a hot meal and access to our closet to obtain much needed clothing and personal items. Further, the youth have access to our volunteers who are there to help to the best of their ability with homework, and/or interview training, mentoring, counseling and emotional support.

We seek volunteers for our drop in center evenings (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) as well as volunteer groups who would like to supply meals to our youth.
