During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Kindred Hospice is looking for a licensed hairdresser/barber who would be willing to volunteer their time to give homebound hospice patients a chance to feel beautiful/handsome during their final months. These professionals would travel to a patient's home and provide whatever services they felt comfortable providing in that setting.
Hospice patients are typically in their last 6 months of life, and struggling with diseases like COPD, Cancer, and Alzheimer's. Often patients on hospice have many visitors coming to support them or to say farewell, and are unable to leave the house or even sometimes the bed in order to take care of their appearance. Kindred would love to provide these patients with some moments of self care and the opportunity to look their best during a difficult time.
Volunteers working with hospice patients must have a hairdressing license and be willing to do a fingerprinting background check (SS# required), a drug test and a health screen/TB test, all of which Kindred Hospice will pay for.
We ask that volunteers make a longer term commitment - ideally a year - to make these costs worthwhile, although the amount of time per month can be coordinated based on the volunteer's availability.
