We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can make a weekly or monthly commitment to drive to one of our generous partners to pick up food donations and deliver them to our church kitchen.
Most driving opportunities are weekday mornings and may require an SUV and the ability to lift and move heavy boxes.

Mission Statement
Our ministry is to serve each other and the larger community, to nourish the underserved and to enrich and transform others and ourselves by helping those in need. One way we do this is by providing nutritious food to food insecure recipients.
Description
Launched in 2012, our Fern Street Food Ministry helps us to connect with people in need and put our values into action. Thanks to the support of our congregation, local donors, and dozens of volunteers, we're getting help to people who need it.
We serve hot, healthy meals in our welcoming dining room;
We pack and deliver weekend food backpacks for at-risk students in West Hartford schools;
We distribute fresh produce and meats from the Foodshare mobile pantry and our own Food Pantry;
We make and deliver sandwiches to downtown Hartford soup kitchens.
