Volunteers are requested to help Miami-based artist Misael Soto build "Sand: Amphitheater, Theater, Arena", a public art installation constructed using 11,000 sandbags. Volunteers will help to build the structure with the artist and will represent the project to the public. At times volunteers might be expected to explain the work to visitors and passersby. Ideal volunteers are interested in public art, ecological issues (climate change, sea level rise, beach erosion, etc), sustainable architecture and development practices, and where these issues overlap. They should be able to lift 40 lbs comfortably.
Email Misael Soto for more information: sotomisael@gmail.com
