Description
As a Maintenance Volunteer you will assist in maintaining buildings, grounds and equipment at the Center for Conservation. Work will be primarily outside performing general grounds upkeep.
Duties
Grounds
- Weeding around buildings, structures, walking paths, roadways and ponds
- Debris Pick up
- Landscaping (seeding, planting, mulch installation)
- Organizing storage yard equipment
Buildings
- Cleaning decks and building exteriors with power washer or broom.
- Occasional light fixture cleaning
- Unboxing and organizing equipment and supplies
- Painting touchups of interior and exterior walls
Schedule
Hours available any time between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Availability of openings vary. The ability to commit to a minimum of six months is required.
Expectations
- Work well with a group or independently
- Ability to complete tasks with low to moderate supervision while following directions
- Take pride in workmanship.
- Ability to perform work with basic hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
Typical Physical Requirements
- Possibility of standing and walking during entire shift
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work in all weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, cold and dust while indoors
- Bending and kneeling while working
