The Clothing Assistance Program will host a community clothing and accessory giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018. This event allows families in Louisville's most impoverished areas an opportunity to collect clothing and accessories for free. With you help, we would also like to offer gently used or new books during this event. We are searching for children's books, picture books, chapter books of fiction and nonfiction for children and adults. All of the donated books will be distributed free to children and families who attend the Take What You Can Tote! Clothing Giveaway on December 8.
We are looking for book donations or friends who would like to organize their own book donation to benefit CAP's efforts to make the December month a little brighter and warmer for those in need.
Books may be delivered to the 15th District PTA Clothing Assistance Program now through Wed., Dec. 5. Our volunteers will sort the books and additional volunteers will work the event to make sure guests get something special.
For more information, call Justin Willis at (502) 485-7450.

Mission Statement
The 15th District Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Clothing Assistance Program (CAP) has provided new and gently used clothing and accessories for students and families in Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) since 1971. In 2017-18, CAP provided more than 6,000 students with new uniforms, socks, underwear, and belts. CAP provides gently used shopping opportunities for entire families to help students overcome obstacles and improve their education.
Description
CAP coordinates clothing and accessory campaigns to benefit students and families. CAP distributes all new and gently used donations for free directly to students and families. CAP offers students new athletic shoes and vouchers for vision exams and glasses. CAP always needs volunteer groups to help sort and organize clothing items, host clothing and accessory donations, and raise money for From the Ground Up!, which is a donation campaign in which 100 percent of collected funds are used to purchase new athletic shoes for students in need.
