What is DV Academy Training with SafeNest?

For those looking to commit to regular program volunteering, SafeNest conducts training, called DV Academy, which is a beginner’s course for those looking to volunteer on at least a monthly basis in working with domestic violence survivors through our direct service program Project Safe 417; PS-417.

*A self-pay background will need to be completed.

After the initial DV Academy training, shadowing hours will be scheduled to provide additional training to new volunteers. Once a minimum number of shadowing shifts have been completed, the volunteer is ready to begin volunteer shifts.

  • Hours/Days - there are shifts 7 days a week
  • Timeframe - each shift is 4 hours in length
  • Location - All training is held at 3900 Meadows Lane. Post DV Academy and shadowing training, volunteers will be able to dispatch from home to the scene of a call
