Salem United maintains an annual festival which is turning 278 years in 2019. It is officially called Black Picnic Day formerly Negro Election Day but many people in the North Shore and Boston area know it as Salem Willows Black Picnic.

Days Variety of Duties:
1. Assist Vendor Leader with Vendor sign in and set up needs

2. Assist Headquarter Leader with Salem United information booth

3. Assist Parade Leader with sign in and participation in parade

4. Assist food leader with food quality control

5. Assist partners (National Park Service)

6. Assist with Voter Registration group

7. Assist with Entertainment sign in and needs

8. Assist with Volunteer quality control

9. Kids corner

Description

Salem United Inc. holds an annual festival celebrating 282 years, in 2022. The Celebration is in honor of the First Black Voting System called Negro Election Day. We honor the day by restoring its coronation: parade, adding a flag raising, vendors, entertainment, family cooking, kids corner, and more.
