Slide Ranch

The mission of Slide Ranch is to connect children to nature. They cultivate healthy bodies and minds and foster future generations of environmental stewards. By farming, cooking, caring for animals and exploring wilderness and the coast, Slide Ranch teaches people of all ages to see the connection between their own health, a healthy food system and a healthy environment.

We would like to invite you to our festive fall celebration, HARVEST FESTIVAL, on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Special highlights of the event include creative crafts, garden cooking activities, a live music line-up, and delicious food for sale prepared in our brand new Farm-to-Table Teaching Center. Volunteers are also invited to a special potluck dinner and a live music dance party in the yurt after the event!

Mission Statement

The mission of Slide Ranch is to connect the Bay Area with farm-based environmental education that focuses on the principles of sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. By cooking, gardening, caring for animals and exploring country and coast, we teach students and families to see the connection between their own choices, a healthy food system and a healthy, resilient environment.

Description

Each year, Slide Ranch provides field trips and overnight camp outs to nearly one hundred schools and community organizations from throughout the Bay Area. Students explore our farm and wild lands and learn about the interdependence of people and the environment, with a focus on food and farming. Slide Ranch is committed to engaging a diverse community in our programs; we keep program fees as low as possible while providing scholarships to half of all participants.
