Family Services' TAY Program serves young adults (ages 18 - 25) living with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities who have a psychiatric diagnosis. TAY stands for Transitional Age Youth.
TAY Program staff are looking for a volunteer to work with a 25-year old young adult man, offering companionship and guidance on completing everyday tasks such as doing laundry, making meals and light housekeeping.
The client lives in shared housing in the Germantown area. He enjoys listening and writing music, going to parks, cooking and surfing the internet.
The volunteer would be asked to meet with the client at least once a week for a few hours, on a Monday-Friday between 2:00-6:00pm or on the weekends during the day.
