ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly report to the board of directors
• Provide oversight for organization operations
• Develop a three-year strategic plan
• Implement the organization's vision, mission and overall direction
• Establish relationships within the community
• Have a solid reputation and good business acumen
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Show leadership at all times and lead by example
• Willing to serve a minimum commitment of a three-year term of office

BACKGROUND

We are One Bread Foundation, Inc., a faith-based nonprofit organization focused on human trafficking issues. Specifically, we raise funds for the rehabilitation of children rescued from sex trafficking. Currently, we are seeking an executive director to join our board. You can make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate by donating a few hours of your time each month.

HIGH-LEVEL COMMITMENT SUMMARY

This position requires attendance at monthly board meetings. Every other month we meet in person, and the alternating dates are conference calls. As a general rule, meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month.

PREREQUISITE TO BOARD APPOINTMENT

We wish to ensure that every board member's appointment is successful. Therefore, we ask that each board candidate self-identify an area of interest and/or competency to serve on one of our committees prior to their formal nomination.

Service on a committee lasts for a minimum of 6-12 months prior to the candidate’s nomination. This allows the candidate and our organization an opportunity to determine if we are a good fit for each other.
