Heartland Hospice is looking for caring, friendly individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our patients. By dedication some of your valuable time, you can bring comfort to a hospice patient and their family. You may assist with errands, homemaking, yard work or simply sit and visit. Training is provided. No hands-on care involved.

We are looking for a dog visitor volunteer to provide support to patients and family members through the utilization of a dog! Must be registered with either of the following; TDI (Therapy dogs international), Delta Society, or United Kennel Club. Breed temperament is considered.

Mission Statement
The mission of ProMedica Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy as well as support to their caregivers. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team such as Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplain and Volunteers, utilizing an approach to the care delivered to patients either in their own home or extended care facility.
Description
At ProMedica we depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need. Some volunteers interact directly with patients and families while others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer you would help us decide which tasks you are comfortable performing.
*We suggest that volunteers make appropriate adjustments after significant loses in their lives and wait a minimum of one year following the death of a loved one to volunteer.
