Urban Angels SF is a nonprofit organization that hand-delivers hot food to the homeless on the streets of San Francisco.
At present we do this twice a month with a driver and 2 other volunteers.
We would like to expand our services to deliver food more frequently but need to feel we have a reliable source of drivers who are willing to pick up the food where it is provided and drive through the various homeless encampments on San Francisco streets.
The driver must own their own car.
Once the driver picks up the food from its source, it usually takes about 2 to 2 and half hours before we have depleted our supply of food and water.
The driver must be compassionate, alert and flexible.

Urban Angels SF personally delivers food and clothing to the unhoused on the street. We connect them with other services for health and transition opportunities. We collaborate with Lava Mae and Miracle Messages to bring the homeless back into society and their families if they wish. .
Description
We are a young NGO and need volunteers to promote our vision. Particularly, we need help with fundraising:
- through identifying potential sources of funds; donors, entities to whom we could submit grant requests, foundations, individuals, other non-profits
- through writing grant requests, through approaching individual donors,
- through fund-raising events; concerts, raffles, bake sales etc. (I’m kidding about the bake sale but I did mean to infer that you and I do not have a handle on the totality of potential sources of funds and that fundraising volunteers might well bring us ideas for fundraising of which we may not have thought).
- host an end of year fundraiser for us.
We need to build our volunteer ranks; contact other organizations, schools, businesses and individuals to build our volunteer ranks.
Can you help us with our clothing drive by finding new sources of mostly men’s clothing?
We need to collect, fold and deliver clothing.
We could use your ideas on how to advertise our clothing drive more effectively.
We need folks with drivers licenses to deliver food to our clients living on the street.
