A community surrogate or victim surrogate takes the role of meeting with a youth criminal offender to discuss the harms and impacts, and make repairs caused by the offense. In these cases the actual victim does not want to meet the offender or the offense does not have a specific victim. These meetings typically last 1-2 hours.
Surrogates must complete a 2-hour orientation session. Upcoming sessions are:
Thursday, February 27, 2020 4 - 6PM
or
Wednesday, March 25, 2020 4- 6 PM
Pizza will be served.
After completing training surrogates will be assigned by the mediators conducting the discussion. Surrogates can be expected to serve once per 2- 3 months or so at this time.
Surrogates will receive a gift card each time they serve.
For information or to sign up for the training, contact Vince Furlong at the Concord Mediation Center 402-740-1666 or vfurlong@concord-center.comMore opportunities with CONCORD MEDIATION CENTER
