As an MSK Child life volunteer, your time and talent will go a long way. You will have the opportunity to support patients, families and staff by responding to the non-medical needs of children being treated for cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. You may play with children in the playroom, provide arts and craft activities, provide companionship at the bedside, assist with special programs and help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients. Becoming a Child life volunteer is rewarding, challenging and inspiring.

Child Life volunteers are supervised by MSK’s Child Life specialists who are trained experts in child development. They promote effective coping through play, education, and self-expression activities. They also provide emotional support for families, and encourage optimum development of children facing a broad range of challenging experiences, particularly those related to healthcare and hospitalization.
