Peninsula College Fund is a college-access nonprofit organization that support first-generation college students with financial need, who are from the San Jose and Mid-Peninsula communities.
We are looking for community members that would be interested in supporting the PCF scholars through event planning and support. Our flagship event is a summer conference, but the planning starts about 8 months prior!
Our volunteer committees will help PCF staff:
1. Recruit companies and organizations for the conference career exploration fair
2. Find guest speakers and a keynote speaker for the conference sessions
3. Review, select, and onboard a company to host the Career Day of the conference, during which our scholars spend the day at the company and work with the employees there on information interviews, mock interviews, etc.
Committees will meet once a month for 3 - 5 months.
Interested in one of these support areas? Let us know and we will be in touch!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower low-income, first generation college students to graduate and obtain a job that aligns with their career goals.
Description
Our comprehensive program includes four key components:
Scholarships: Each student receives a scholarship of $3,000/year for all four years of college. Our goal is to provide scholars with the necessary funds to allow them to attend the college that is the best fit academically, financially, and socially.
One-to-One Mentoring: We carefully match each scholar with one caring adult who provides support, counsel, friendship, networking, and positive role modeling to help each student complete college. We provide our mentors with on-going training and continuously evaluate and improve our mentoring program. Our goals are to help fill the gaps in knowledge about the college experience that first-generation college students often experience, and provide the support and example that enable our scholars to overcome the challenges on the path to graduation.
Summer Internships: We identify and develop paid and volunteer summer internships for our scholars. Our goals are to expose our students to different career opportunities, help them network for post-graduation careers, and earn income to assist in financing their education.
College Success Workshops: We provide all students with targeted, in-depth workshops to give them the tools for college completion and career readiness. Our goal is to build knowledge and peer support to prepare scholars in each year of college.
