How does it feel to help save a life?
If you have a little free time, love driving, and enjoy meeting new people, the Red Cross has a great volunteer position for you!
Volunteers are needed to transport life-saving blood and blood products throughout the region. There are also non-driving positions as a Navigator, making this a great dual role for couples.Responsibilities:
- Transport blood from blood drives to warehouse near Rochester;
- Distribute tested blood and blood products to area hospitals;
- Pick up and return empty boxes from hospitals;
- Deliver blood and other materials to and from other regional sites;
- Complete required paperwork and obtain required signatures;
- Communicate with Red Cross staff regarding changes and urgent issues.
These volunteers must:
- Have a valid state driver's license with no revocations
- Have at least 3 years of driving experience
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Be at least 21 years old
