SUMMARY OF JOB: This program aims to engage Planned Parenthood’s health center visitors in our advocacy work. The primary goal of Health Center Advocacy is to expand our supporter base and to empower health center visitors to take action to protect choice and sexual health. Throughout the recent history of the program, we have been able to engage over 5,000 new supporters in our advocacy work.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Activists are responsible for being in the health center at least once per week, informing health center visitors about current events and outreach opportunities that can affect sexual health services provided by Planned Parenthood. Activists set up a small table with information in the health center waiting room and engage with interested health center visitors in that space. Activists must complete all required trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work with diverse populations

• Self-motivated

• Interest in community outreach and advocacy

• Ability to understand and follow HIPAA regulations at all times

TIME COMMITMENT: Ideally 2 hours per week. Can be more flexible if needed.
