During these uncertain times, how can we help?

SoCal Parrot is a 501(c)3 non-profit group based in San Diego, which works to rescue, rehabilitate, and care for southern California's wild parrot flocks. The injured parrots we rescue come from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego; we need reliable transport for these birds to safely arrive back to our facility in Jamul.
Rescue calls come in at all times of day, all days of the week. Baby season (late Spring through Summer) is our busiest time for rescues, but the "off" season has proven to be quite busy this year!
We are currently seeking San Diego-based volunteers who would be willing to pick up an injured or orphaned parrot (from another volunteer or rescue facility) and deliver it to another volunteer further south.
SoCal Parrot will provide you with all of the training and paperwork you'll need to be successful in this role. We do require you to have a reliable vehicle, flexible schedule, and strong ability to communicate.
** PLEASE NOTE: This role requires availability and willingness to drive! Rescue coverage for this area spans from central San Diego as far north as Irvine (Orange County), with drop-off in La Mesa or Jamul.
