Hospice Companion Volunteers needed in the Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount and Bloomington areas
Help enrich someone's last moments by becoming a Hospice Volunteer!
Brighton Hospice is currently looking for companion volunteers in the South St. Paul, Roseville, Rosemount, Eagan, Burnsville and greater East metro areas to spend time with our patients and families.
Companion volunteer activities include, but are not limited to: listening to patient's concerns, being a comforting and supportive presence, holding a hand, baking a cake, listening to cherished memories, giving a hug, being a shoulder to lean on, touching a heart, baking treats, reminiscing with patients, playing board or card games, discussing current events, running errands or doing light housekeeping for the patient and family, encouraging patient to tell his/her life story and recording it on paper or recorder, allowing time for caregivers to take care of themselves, informing hospice staff of the needs of the hospice patient and family, playing music, helping take care of pets, writing notes and memories for patient, sewing or knitting together, reading aloud, writing letters, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, journaling patient's past experiences, painting patient's nails, cooking with/for patient, lawn work, massaging patient's hands, etc.

Our team is made up of our Medical Director, Director of Nursing, nurse case managers, hospice aides, social worker, chaplain, a dietitian, volunteers, and a stellar support team. We are able to provide many levels of care for hospice, including: Routine Home Care, General Inpatient Care, Respite Care, and Continuous Care.
